Shen Jai Education Group (SJEG) currently houses Kompas International College (KIC), Shen Jai TVET College, Shen Jai Confucius Institute (SJCI), Bake & Take bakery, and halal-certified Authentique Restaurant. 

An endearing household name remembered by generations, SJEG is steadfast in its founding mission – to provide accessible education and uplift communities through learning.

What sets SJEG apart? Its commitment to blending traditional education with real-world, work-based learning. By integrating practical experience with classroom theory, SJEG equips students with both the knowledge and the hands-on skills employers today demand. This philosophy is brought to life in 2021 through ventures like halal-certified Authentique Restaurant and Bake & Take bakery — fully owned by SJEG, serving not just customers but also as training grounds for budding kitchen professionals.

History

Since 1969, Shen Jai Education Group (SJEG) has grown from the Shen Jai School of Commerce, founded to help underprivileged school leavers, into a key education provider. The group expanded by acquiring Kompas International College (KIC), offering diploma programmes in fields like Accounting and Finance.

In 2018, SJEG unified all its post-secondary initiatives under one umbrella with a central campus in Ipoh Garden South. The group further advanced in 2019 by transforming its commerce school into Shen Jai TVET College, supporting Malaysia’s focus on Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).

Recognised as one of the fastest-growing education groups in Northern Malaysia, today, SJEG continues to earn accolades for its innovation, quality, and dedication to purposeful learning. At its core, the group remains committed to one goal: empowering lives through education—creating holistic individuals with the confidence and competence to shape their own success stories.

Going Global

In 2023, SJEG achieved a new milestone by co-establishing the Shen Jai Confucius Institute (SJCI) with the Chinese International Education Foundation (CIEF) and Xidian University (XDU), China. SJCI is a testament to the Group’s internationalisation efforts which pave the way for more international collaborations.

2022

Strategic affiliation with Puncak Jaya Edu Management Sdn. Bhd. for strategic training oriented focus for targeted sector

Shen Jai Confucius Institute was established (in collaboration with Xidian University of China), as a community oriented initiative for Chinese Cultural and Language development.

2020

For practical industry centric approach, Authentique Restaurant and Bake&Take Bakery and Patisserie was established.

2019

Formal formation of Shen Jai Education Group (SJEG)

Streamlining of corporate presence and quality management for all SJEG institution

Transformation of Shen Jai School of Commerce to Shen Jai TVET College (SJTC) for TVET oriented focus.

Relocation of all SJEG Establishments (KIC , SJTC) to Ipoh Garden Square

2001

Shen Jai High School was relocated to a new campus to allow room for better development

1991

Kompas International School was established, and eventually part of SJEG.

1969

The initial establishment of Shen Jai School of Commerce, with intention to provide business and commerce knowledge generally to the community.

1959

The initial establishment of Shen Jai High School. The earliest presence of SJEG in education.
